This morning, your driver will arrive to transfer you to the Fort Sumter Ferry at Liberty Park to meet your guide and depart to Fort Sumter for a private guided tour.

Your guide will provide an introduction and interpretive tour before your group cruise departs. The Fort Sumter National Monument sits prominently at the mouth of the Charleston Harbor, a strategic location that was crucial to its defense.

Your tour vessel will cruise to Fort Sumter from Liberty Square in downtown Charleston or from Patriot's Point in Mount Pleasant.

The first shots of the American Civil War were fired from Fort Sumter at approximately 4:30am on April 12, 1861. Fort Sumter surrendered 34 hours later, and Union forces tried for nearly four years to take it back.

Stand on the grounds where America's deadliest war began at Fort Sumter National Monument.

Today, your driver will transfer you to meet your captain at the dock to set out on anaturalist-led Lowcountry boat tour followed by a delicious beachside seafood boil.

Located on South Carolina's coast, the Lowcountry is both a geographic and cultural region teeming with cultural heritage, rich history, vibrant communities and marine life.

Relax and enjoy a scenic cruise through a salt marsh in search of frolicking dolphins,soaring birds and dune plants enroute to a remote island.

Your captain will drop anchor to offer time to explore the island at leisure. Search for shells, dig for oysters (if low tide), play bocci or corn hole.

Then join for a traditional seafood boil on the beach. Savor fresh caught shrimp paired with house smoked sausage, sweet corn and small potatoes simmered in a flavorful season mix.

Enjoy dinner as the sun sets then take a cruise back to the mainland to end this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Today, your driver will transfer you to Middleton Place Plantation, where you can enjoy explore the grounds and tour the house museum at your own pace with your general admission tickets.

Middleton Place is primarily an outdoor experience, so it's best to prepare accordingly for various weather conditions. Museum tour times are scheduled upon arrival.

We recommend arriving early and planning on spending several hours at Middleton Place to fully take advantage of everything that is offered.

Built in 1755 at the direction of Henry Middleton, this structure was once part of a three-building estate that overlooked the Ashley River.

The House Museum contains an extraordinary collection of furniture, paintings, books, artifacts, and documents dating from the 1740s through the Civil War.

Once you are ready to depart, your driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel. In the afternoon, embark on an enchanting horse-drawn carriage ride of the city.

Departing from downtown, your guide will lead you down cobblestone streets and tell you the history of the charming estates, gardens and churches that make up the heart of this wonderfully preserved neighborhood.
